City Of Bones By Cassandra Clare

Title: City Of Bones
Author: Cassandra Clare
Series: Book One: Mortal Instruments
Stars: 5

Summary:

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder—much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing—not even a smear of blood—to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It’s also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .

After being recommended this book by Gina [from YA Fiction Freaks] and hearing so many amazing things about this book, I finally decided to pick up a copy of City of Bones by Cassandra Clare.
The writing was amazing, just as all the reviews I have read promised. From the first page I was totally into the story and loving it. And within a few chapters I found it hard to put it down.
I loved the characters and found them easy to relate to, without feeling as if they were being dumbed down. They each had their own personalities, and I felt as if they were real people.
The world that C.C created was amazing. And the plot was wonderful. The entire idea of it was fascinating and beautiful. It truly is amazing.
I can’t even explain how much I love this book. By the end, I had cried, laughed, thrown the book at the wall, and been so surprised I found it hard to continue reading. This book is amazing, and one of my new favorites. And you can be sure that I will be reading the sequel, City of Ashes, very soon.
So the verdict is...LOVE IT.
